No-Till Gardening: Preserve Soil Health and Boost Crops
Check this out:
Tilling is the action of breaking up and turning over the soil. This is done to loosen up soils for planting, remove weeds, and bring nutrients to the surface. However, this kills off any beneficial organisms that lived on the surface of the soil. No-till methods prevents the use of tilling, in order to minimally disturb the soil as much as possible. This allows the organisms in the soil to remain healthy, and prevents soil erosion. No-till methods apply the use of cover crops, diverse crop rotation, and specialized equipment in order to keep the soil intact.
