Lonie Borden

Lonie is a Systems and Security Administrator at an international nonprofit religious institution, where she has played a key role in developing the organization's program outreach and support departments through the use of technology. With a unique career path that transitioned from hospitality management to technology, Lonie brings a diverse skill set and innovative approach to their work.

Before entering the nonprofit and tech sector, Lonie spent many years managing events and banquets at prestigious venues, including the Fairmont Santa Monica, Bel-Air Bay Club, and Disneyland. Her experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly witnessing the waste and inefficiency, spurred a desire for change. Volunteering to support an online event led to her current career, where she has since become the go-to expert for all technology needs within her organization. Largely self-taught and driven by independent study, Lonie has grown into a pivotal role as a quick learner and problem solver.

Lonie holds a Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management from Cal Poly Pomona, a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from Louisiana State University, Shreveport, and a CompTIA Security+ certification, having completed the San Diego State University Extension Cybersecurity Bootcamp. Their broad skill set includes project management, cybersecurity, and resourceful troubleshooting.

Lonie's journey into social justice and advocacy began when their family adopted six children from Kazakhstan, an experience that revealed the challenges of inequality and systemic bureaucracy. This awareness has driven her to pursue roles that align with her desire to help others, including her position on the board of GoGreenLocally, where she works to promote sustainability and equal access to resources and education. Her passion for lifelong learning and commitment to making a difference continues to inspire her work today.

Stacie Miller, PhD

Board Director & Marketing Committee Lead

In late August 1992, Miami, about a week before my 11th birthday, Hurricane Andrew caused severe damage in my neighborhood. I gathered up some friends and we formed “the green team,” scraping together enough donations to plant three trees. This was my earliest effort to live more sustainably.

Always fascinated with people and the factors contributing to their personalities, preferences, and behaviors, I later got a PhD in psychology with a focus on behavioral neuroscience. My career has been spent helping companies understand their customers and communicate in a way that motivates action.

As a Board Director with GoGreen Locally, I am using my background to do research with an impact. GoGreen Locally is a powerful outlet for scaling one’s impact because of its mission to support other environmental groups across the nation, making it a genuine multiplier.

Crystal Vasquez

Board Director

The work we do is very rewarding and uplifting. culinary school and the life of a chef were initially short-term goals that grew into a passion for food and a career that has allowed me to provide for my children as a single parent. Still, I always knew I wanted to go back to school. My dream is to make healthy fresh food more accessible, affordable, and overall, more desirable." Crystal is now attending Fresno State where she is studying Food Science and Nutrition and has applied to Arizona State University Online to pursue a degree in Sustainable Food Systems. "I have a dream to help reform the broken food systems in the United States and hopefully expand to helping globally one day, but only after helping the Central Valley heal its food deserts and increase its food security. It feels great to put purpose behind the food that I serve.

A.J. Dax

Board Director

A.J.’s environmental interest was piqued as a child watching Jacques Cousteau’s TV specials and Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. It was further fostered by parents, who were eco-conscious when it was not widely accepted. While in elementary school, she won an “Award of Excellence in Environmental Protection” from U.S. President Jimmy Carter’s administration and has remained dedicated to raising environmental awareness. Years later, as Marketing/PR professional, she had the good fortune to work on projects involving some of her eco/animal welfare heroes - including Jean-Michel Cousteau, Jack Hanna, and Joan Embery. A.J. was also a featured environmentalist in “Hot, Rich, and Green,” a book by Rebecca Tickell, director/producer of the award-winning environmental films Fuel and The Big Fix.
Her Marketing and Public Relations career covered a wide array of markets and everything from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies before she started her own environmental and healthy lifestyle consulting business. In addition to landing billions of media impressions, her work has helped usher in single-use plastic shopping bag bans and animal rights legislation.

Seeing a Clear Cut forest for the first time as a very young child I knew that there was a great
need to protect our Natural Resources and the World at large. Having an affinity for nature and
an aversion to chemical/artificial inondation in my personal life led me to an in-depth study of
Holistic Nutrition and down a path of living an All-Green lifestyle. There are so many everyday
choices we have to make that impact our Earth and affect our lives: I am called to assist and
inspire change in the masses. We can create a world that is in harmony by working together,
making change happen on a global scale and that starts by going green locally. I am honored to
be a part of the change. My professional background is in Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle
Coaching with a focus on stimulating sustainable practices in Businesses and Service Industries.
As an Inspirational Speaker and Author I aspire to be the change I wish to see in the world and
in doing so inspire others to do the same

I, with my husband founded GOGREENLOCALLY to help our local community find more green organizations and businesses, and opportunities for action with community. We then decided to expand this to across the nation. My path of green action is using my past experiences as a mom, a small upcycling decors business owner, a Permaculture gardener, a certified conflict resolution practitioner, and an admin assistant to help promote more sustainable eco-friendly action in my community and the wider world. It has been my honor to meet and work with many passionate and informed individuals. Working with others on initiatives to care for our people and the planet, has been a source of meaning and inspiration like no other.
