Sustainability:
Beeswax is a natural product that is biodegradable and renewable, making it a very good option for use as a sealant.
Potential Chemical Exposure:
Safe Handling Recommendations:
When working with beeswax minimize skin contact to avoid irritation and be sure to wash hands after use. Do a patch test to ensure there are to allergic reactions to it.
Eco-Friendly Alternatives:
Plant based waxes such as soy or rice bran wax can be used if beeswax is not preferable.
Sources - DIY or Retail:
Beeswax and other waxes can be purchased in many places in many forms, online and in person, and if one has access to local bee farmers that could a very good resource to consider.
